Shopping.

If i could shop everyday, all day, i would! I loveeee shopping, esp. retail therapy! Aside from music i feel as though shopping is the best for me. Oh my goodnesssssss, I can't wait to go shopping on Black Friday! It's going to be so many people, but i'm going to try and get everything i need before all the sales go away! 

I Love the Holidays!

I mean who doesn't love holidays? My favorite holiday is my birthday! Lol I definitely consider it a holiday because i was born on that day, duhhh! :) My second favorite holiday would have to be Christmas, simply because i love the snow! I'm from New Jersey, so i used to always see the snow around Christmas time! Being with family is also a plus during Christmas! I just absolutely love it! 

College Life...

This is my second year here at RBC and i like it but i'm just ready to be done here. I've met alot of cool people and after we all graduate, i hope we keep in contact, that's just because of the simple fact that i really love them so much. I plan on majoring in business, but getting my associates in science then maybe transfer to ODU or something. I really enjoyed this English class and i plan on taking 102 in the spring!

Expressions...

Nowadays, some people follow whatever it is that's going on in the world today to make it seem like they are popular. Tattoos are a way of expression. Some go overboard and get tattoos of unnecessary things like lollipops and ice cream, but then others get meaningful tattoos and that's what i loveeee to see! They are an excellent form of expression to me. I currently don't have any at the moment, but i want to get some in the next couple of months! :)

Family Feud.

I've always wanted to be on the show Family Feud. Lol Call me crazy, but i like this show! I answer the question as fast as the people on TV. I usually get the number one answer too! :) Then at the end of the show, i try and get the best answers by answering the fast money questions. I would love to win that money too!      

Explanation..

Hey guys! I'm sorry i keep putting all of this music on my blog, but i really really love music! I listen to music everyday and i just thought that you all would like to know how i feel about it!  

So this blog is about one of my top favorite rappers, Kendrick Lamar. I wouldn't even consider him a rapper, he's more of a lyricist. His music speaks to you through the words instead of you just hearing the song.

He's basically saying that sometimes we all slack and forget our dreams and follow the route the money wants to take us. Also, he wonders how the girl would act if they tried to make things work, whether she would "bounce back" right into being together, or "bounce backwards" right out of the relationship again. He goes on to say that if she can't see things straight and understand, then the relationship may be lost altogether.

I have two nieces. Zi is 12 and Nyah is six. I love those two girls with all my heart. I try to see them every chance i get. I don't get to see them everyday because they live in New Jersey with my older sister. I was born in N.J and I moved down here in the 2nd grade. I wish I could move back up there after school, I miss their faces! Lol but I seriously miss all of my family back up north. My nieces are in the 1st and 6th grades. They are going up so quick! I can't wait until i get to see them everyday and receive their love in return. 

The Word B*tch...

Well the word b*tch is used wayyyyy too much nowadays. I think that is because of what people hear in music and how they use it in videos and on tv. There's this song that an artist by the name of Lupe Fiasco, who tackles the word and its effects esp. on children. Lupe uses this song in way to explain the true meaning instead of just labeling a person with the word. I honestly think this is a great song and is explained perfectly. I just want everyone to listen to it, watch the video and understand the true meaning of the word b*tch. 

2nd week in class...

Well the second week in class was ok, we never seem to agree on things without discussing/arguing about it. Lol I really don't think you can do anything without doing the two. People have their own opinions and the only way it seems to be possible is by getting their own points across about the topic. The other day we also talked about logos, pathos, and ethos. Logos is the arguments in a story and this can also have some emotion in it as well. Pathos is the emotions of the reader or audience. Ethos is the writers emotions of the reader or audience. The three of those are meant to persuade the reader and make them believe or think just as the writer does. I don't like writing papers at all unless the topic is interesting. Pop Culture, Family, and Crime and Punishment all seem interesting to me. So i am looking forward to writing all three of those papers! 

My very first blog...

Well hello all, I'm D'Naja and i am currently a student at Richard Bland College. My English 101 teacher wanted the class to create a blog. I wasn't too sure as to what i suppose to do, but I was thinking of it as a diary of some sort, but here goes. My mood as of right now is ok. It could definitely be a whole lot better, but it's not. When I have a lot on my mind, listening to music helps me remain calm. I love listening to music. Wale and Lauryn Hill are two of my favorite artists. 

This song by Wale is one of my favorites by him. It's titled Diary. 

And this song by Lauryn Hill is entitled Nothing Even Matters featuring D'Angelo.  

These two songs are so soothing to me. Give them both a listen and let me know what you think.
